“I THINK THAT
EVERY WOMAN IS UNORDINARY,
IN THE
SENSE THAT THERE IS SO MUCH THAT WE DO IN THE WORLD. EVERY
WOMAN HAS THAT IN HER.”
“I THINK THAT EVERY WOMAN IS UNORDINARY, IN THE SENSE THAT THERE IS SO MUCH THAT WE DO IN THE WORLD. EVERY WOMAN HAS THAT IN HER.”
She began her career on a very different path. After graduating from Harvard law school, she spent more than a decade as a corporate attorney. But her love of art was always bubbling just beneath the surface. The birth of her second child brought about an unordinary realization. “My child was about six months, and I was quite unhappy and miserable, honestly, because I didn't feel that I had chosen the right thing for me. I decided I didn’t want to spend my life trapped by conventions or doing what society was expecting of me. I wanted to show my family and my children that you can follow your bliss and make a living out of it.” It was not an easy change, but the rewards have been extraordinary. “I’m so grateful that I pushed through and did it. And eleven years later, here we are.”
