PEGGY
WHITSON

NASA CHIEF ASTRONAUT.

FIRST FEMALE COMMANDER OF THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION.

RECORD-SHATTERER. SPACEWALKER. DREAMER & DOER.

Peggy Whitson’s unordinary achievements are many. Ten spacewalks. More time in space than any astronaut (665 days). Two NASA space flight metals. Countless budding young astronauts inspired. Unsurprisingly, her trailblazing path to the great beyond was anything but predictable. Watch her film to see why.

“YOU'RE CAPABLE OF SO MUCH MORE THAN YOU KNOW
—THAN YOU'D EVEN DREAM OF . AND THAT'S WHY IT'S SO
IMPORTANT TO LIVE OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE , TO
CHALLENGE YOURSELF TO LIVE BEYOND.

It was Peggy’s childhood on a farm that gave root to her incredible perseverance. “The work ethic, the sheer force it took to succeed there, carried over into my life.” Years later, being in space gave her a new perspective on our globe: “The view of the earth, it really gives you a huge appreciation for our planet when you're up above it. You recognize how special this place is, how valuable it is, how delicate it is.” It made all the work and struggle that came before worth it. “I never would have imagined that. But the challenges I faced allowed me to do even more than I thought I could.”
